Stuttgart
Sunday evening I spontaneously decided to visit Julia in Stuttgart for some days, and so off I went yesterday. It took me ten hours hitchhiking, but therefore it was for free. I'll be back on the weekend or Monday.

Back from Elk Land :)
So Beck & Beckmann arrived safely today in the early morning. We had a wonderful last week, visited Kopenhagen, Göteborg and Stockholm as well as went off to Swedens wilderness with a canoe for some days. Yesterday we had a relaxing last evening on deck of the ferry after braking Swedens traffic laws for several hours in order to reach the ferry. Later we rolled out our sleeping bags there and woke up with the rising sun over the Baltic Sea.
I've got no digital photos, cause my camera doesn't work anymore. But therefore I've got the real ones, so just drop by and watch them.
Jolle!

Sweden Experience Week
George came today in the evening. Our ferry to Denmark is leaving tomorrow at 2 pm. Then we'll continue driving to Sweden without a plan yet. We just know that we'll be back on Sunday. So until then, have a nice week, Jolle!

Weekend at the Baltic Sea
It has been a nice weekend, even if the weather wasn't that fine. Anyway, we had some fun swimming in the cold Baltic Sea, walking along the beach, riding an old steam-driven train, playing cards with Basti's parents and finally camping on the beach.

Five-Lake-Run
Friday Eli and Basti came for a weekend visit. We went to Schwerin and the castle yesterday. This morning I took part in the 15 km Five-Lake-Run and finished 11th overall, 3rd in my category.
Tomorrow Kai will join from Hamburg and we'll drive North to the coast.

Home again...
After an evening in Halle with Basti and Eli I came home yesterday. Just to find, that the summer hasn't arrived in the northern part yet. :(
Hope this will change soon. Maybe Teresa could bring a little tropical sun from Thailand next week, when she returns.
Happy Summer, Jolle!

Stuttgarter-Zeitung-Lauf
Yesterday was the big running day for Caro and Steffi, who planned to finish their first half marathon. We met around 9 am at the Daimler-Stadium. The weather was perfect, dry, no wind, not too cool and not too warm. But nontheless it became a tough challenge. We started at the end of the field and kept a quite steady pace until the end. But we succeeded, after 2 h and 52 min they finished their first half marathon safe and happy. Congratulations.

Julia ran the 7 km race, which started later in the morning, and she also finished in a personal best of around 48 min. Also congratulations.
The evening faded out on out balcony with a solid BBQ session. I'm not sure right now when I'll come home, but it'll be around Wednesday.

Summer Challenge
Hitchhiking was a bit of an adventure this time, but after 2 days I finally arrived in Ingolstadt and it became a nice party weekend. And except Friday, the weather meant it good with us. The duathlon was fun, Georg and me finished somewhat in the middle of the pack.

Hitchhiking South...
Today I'll start for a ten day trip to South Germany. I'll start visiting Basti in Halle, then spend the weekend attending the Summer-Challenge in Ingolstadt, before moving on to Stuttgart on Sunday where I'll stay with Julia and run the Half Marathon with some friends.
Apropos running. This week I have zero km on my account, cause my feet simply didn't feel that fresh. But it doesn't matter. I didn't plan running personal bests the next weeks.
Let's pray for good weather and a lot of good rides. CU, Jolle!

A Trip to Rostock
Last Sunday I made a spontaneous trip to Rostock, my city of birth. A city run on a 2.5 km round course was held, directly in the area, where I lived for 10 years, went to school, played and shopped. I arrived around half past nine and registered for the half marathon. The time until start I killed by looking around the town and spending some time with my grandparents, who came to see the start.
My goal was something under 1:30 hours, and I also dreamed about a new pb, my old one being something around 1:28. I started from the front of the pack in my desired speed of around 15 kph, and had to let go ten other runners. Passing slower runners, especially from the bigger 10 km crowd, which started 1.1 km in front of us at the same time, was no big problem. The first two laps I clocked at around 10 min each, and still felt good, or even better than at the start. So I kept on going that speed until the end. After the 8th lap I reognized one of the runners who I had to let go at the start, and accelerated as much as I could, overtaking him and finishing 10th overall in 1:23:44 h (all results). I was really baffled having reached such a time.
At the finish I met Friedemann and Christian (who took the photo below) with his girlfriend, talked a while and had some ice cream before I went to my grandparents for the afternoon.

All in all, it was a happy Sunday which I will keep in memory for a while. :)
