Winter holiday
As the winter had a tight grip on Germany til last week we decided to stay in Hesse at Astrids family for our winter holiday.
It was the week of karneval whis more a tractor show here. ;-)
We went skiing in Willingen and had fun with our horses, the dogs and the new 4-wheel drive Volvo.

On our way home to Mannheim Astrid started this year's dressage tournament season with a good placement.

Next week I will be in Bangkok for 3 days.

Eppelheim Tournament
We went to Eppelheim for a dressage tournament this weekend. Ray was a bit nervous on Friday evening due to some water sprinkling on the neighbouring court...

..., so we took Andor today. He stayed cool and again was well placed in his second tournament. This time a 5th place, very good.

Horses & Horses
Friday was public holiday in Germany. Nontheless it was very early (for my taste) when we drove to the new stables in Straßenheim to load Ray for a dressage tournament in Heidelberg.

No money this time - ;) - but still we were very satisfied with the overall performance.

After the tournament we went directly back to Straßenheim and took the chance to get some new photos of Andor. He is learning and evolving much to our joy.

And he seems to like the new surroundings in the stable with many other Haflinger comrades and lots of fresh hay and straw.

The other 3 girls that have moved with us to the new stables were also riding at the same time so we assembled the parade for a photo.

The almond trees are in full blossom
Finally the winter is gone. 25 degrees Celsius allow garden work. And also our big almond tree is in full blossom and looks gorgeous.

On Monday our horses moved to a new stable in Straßenheim near Mannheim. Here you see Andor and Ray shortly before the move.

Mud race
Today I was supposed to run the Strongman Run, the big mud challenge where I have been last year. But we decided to swap this challenge for the first dressage tournament of this year in Bensheim.
And as it was raining heavily the last days, I had my mud challenge with the car and horse trailer...

...while Astrid had her challenge. We were pretty excited because it was the first tournament in 2 years and Ray is always a bit excited in new environments.

But the worries were unnecessary, she was cool as ice and both did a great job. Yes, I love them!

At the end of the day Astrid won back some money to make up the lost registration fee of the Strongman Run.

It seems like the winter has really gone now. Our garden is awakening in full speed and Lea is happy to see us more often outside to play with her. :)
